Music at Whittonstall
Music is an important part of our curriculum at Whittonstall First School and supports our ambition to deliver a creative curriculum that supports Character Education. We use Charanga for our whole school music curriculum but alongside this, we also offer our pupils a range of whole class and individual lessons.
In Key Stage 2, all pupils have the opportunity to learn an instrument (Year 3 Recorder, Year 4 Flute). Pupils are taught not only how to play but also how to read music by a specialist teacher from Northumberland’s music service.
We also hold weekly, whole-school, singing sessions.
